Scope and order of precedence

Batoi Academy is Batoi’s education division. It works with universities, public bodies, research organizations, practitioners, nonprofits, professional institutions, and other mission-aligned organizations. It is not a software platform or product. The applicable proposal, program letter, institutional agreement, grant or fellowship terms, or other written engagement document controls if it expressly differs from this page.

Eligibility and participation

Participation depends on the audience, purpose, capacity, selection process, and safeguards of the applicable program.

  • Provide accurate application, nomination, affiliation, qualification, and contact information when requested.
  • Meet any institutional, cohort, fellowship, research, location, age, consent, or prerequisite requirements stated for the program.
  • Where a participant is not legally able to consent independently, participation requires the authorization and safeguards required by applicable law and the responsible institution.
  • Admission, participation, funding, completion, publication, or recognition is not guaranteed by an enquiry or application.

Accounts and access

Where technology operated by Batoi or an institution supports an Academy-led program, participants must protect any credentials, use access only for the approved purpose, and promptly report suspected misuse. The technology remains governed by its applicable product, institutional, or service terms.

Responsible participation and acceptable use

Participants must follow the Acceptable Use Policy, applicable institutional rules, research or publication requirements, and instructions for the program.

Act honestly

Do not misrepresent identity, affiliation, authorship, contribution, attendance, evidence, assessment work, or research results.

Protect people and information

Do not disclose confidential, personal, restricted, unsafe, or unlawfully obtained information.

Respect the community

Do not harass, discriminate, disrupt, threaten, or interfere with another participant or institution.

Follow program rules

Observe approved methods, attribution, ethics, safety, security, publication, and responsible-AI requirements.

Programs, outputs, and recognition

Program scope, schedule, participation expectations, review, outputs, acknowledgement, certificate or other recognition—if any—are stated in the applicable program materials. Completion does not guarantee employment, promotion, admission, funding, publication, certification, customer acceptance, or regulatory approval.

Learning and research environments

Any dataset, sandbox, lab, equipment, repository, workspace, or research environment may be used only for the approved educational or research purpose and within its stated security, privacy, ethics, licence, capacity, and retention limits.

Materials, intellectual property, and publication

Ownership and permitted use depend on who created the material, the applicable programme, third-party rights, and the written engagement terms.

  • Batoi and its licensors retain their pre-existing materials, methods, software, marks, and documentation.
  • Participants and institutions retain rights they already hold. Ownership or licensing of jointly created curricula, research, software, data, recordings, or publications must be stated in the applicable written terms.
  • Do not publish, commercialize, train a model on, redistribute, or remove notices from restricted materials unless the rights holder and applicable program terms permit it.
  • Batoi names, logos, badges, affiliation statements, photographs, recordings, and public announcements require the permissions described by the program and Intellectual Property Policy.

Privacy, research ethics, and safeguarding

Batoi processes personal information under the Privacy Policy, applicable program notice, institutional arrangement, documented role, and law. A program involving research participants, minors, sensitive data, recordings, or publication may require additional consent, ethics review, safeguarding, or data-management terms.

Changes, withdrawal, and removal

The applicable program materials determine withdrawal, cancellation, rescheduling, substitution, fees, refunds, funding, suspension, and termination. Batoi or the responsible institution may restrict participation to protect people, systems, program integrity, legal compliance, or safety. This public page creates no fixed notice period or refund entitlement.

Disclaimers, responsibility, and liability

Academy programs support education, inquiry, and capability development. They are not legal, medical, financial, regulatory, employment, certification, or other professional advice unless expressly stated by an appropriately qualified provider. Warranties, indemnities, liability limits, insurance, and risk allocation are governed by the applicable institutional or program agreement and mandatory law; this page does not create a separate liability cap.
