Allow User Registration on Your WordPress Website

WordPress allows you to enable user registration on your website. In this article, we will guide you how to allow user registration on your WordPress website.

  1. To enable user registration on your website go to "Settings>General" as shown below.

  3. Then scroll down to the "Membership" section as shown below.

  5. Check the box next to "Anyone can register" option as shown above.
  6. Now you need to select the default user role. The default user role as shown in the screenshot is 'Contributor', which you can change to any other user role available. After that you need to click on the "Save Changes" button to store your settings as shown below. Your WordPress website is now open for user registration.

  8. Once you have opened your WordPress website to user registration, the next step is to let your users know that they can register and login on to your website. You can do so by adding a link to "Login" and "Register" page through the "Meta Widget".
  9. To do so go to "Appearance>Widgets" and add the "Meta Widget" to a desired sidebar as shown below. The Login and Register link will appear on your website.
