Organic farming is the form of agriculture that relies on crop rotation, green manure, compost, biological pest control and mechanical cultivation to maintain soil productivity and control pests, excluding or strictly limiting the use of synthetic fertilisers and synthetic pesticides, plant growth regulators, livestock feed additives, and genetically modified organisms. Organic agricultural methods are internationally regulated and legally enforced by many states. So organic agriculture is a production system that sustains the health of soils, ecosystems and people. It relies on ecological processes, biodiversity and cycles adapted to local conditions, rather than the use of inputs with adverse effects. Organic agriculture combines tradition, innovation and science to benefit the shared environment and promote fair relationships and a good quality of life for all involved. So keeping in this view SHANTiDHAM has been launching its organic farming project since its inception in Jagatsinghpur district. To create awareness among the farmers on different improved organic agricultural practices and facilities available in different line department of Govt., Three nos. of awareness training were held in the different blocks of Jagatsinghpur district. In this programme the organization has been providing training and financial support to the farmers of the above district for proper implementation of organic farming procedure. Agriculture specialist of Odisha state agricultural society has providing training to the farmers about organic farming.
