While adding or editing a post in Batoi.com, you can embed an image or a PDF document or even a file archive. This article provides a tutorial that will take you through the process of uploading embeddable media to Batoi.com (the section Media) and embedding them into your post content.

Embeddable media include:

1. Image - a file in PNG, JPG, JPEG or GIF format
2. Document - a file in PDF format
3. File Archive - a file in ZIP or TAR.GZ format

So, let us start—login to your Batoi Dashboard. Go to My Publications as shown below.

To upload a new file to the Media, click on Media as shown below.

Select the type of media you would like to upload from the Add Media dropdown as shown below.

In the Add Image page, add the image caption in the ‘Caption field and click on Choose File to browse an image (should be less than 350 KB) from your local system that you want to upload.

You can upload more than one image at once. To do so, click on the Add new File button and a new row will appear to enable you to add the caption for the image and select the second image. Follow similar steps to choose more images that you would like to upload.

Once you have selected the images, you want to add, click on the ‘Submit’ button.

Once the selected files are successfully uploaded, you will be taken to the Media page. Your image will now appear in the Media.

You can see some action links associated with each image. To edit the image name(s), click on the pencil edit icon besides Rename for the respective image(s).

Once you have edited the image name, click on the Save button to save it or click on the Close button to close the pop-up without any action.

You can see three other action links as mentioned below:

• View: Click to view the public page of the image.
• Copy Link: Click to copy the File URL. This is the URL you use to link to the image.
• Delete: Click to delete if you no longer wish to have the said media file.

Once you click on the Delete button, a pop-up will appear to enable you to confirm your action. Click on the OK button to delete the file. Click on the Cancel button to close the pop-up without any action.

You can use similar steps as mentioned above to upload other media (Document and File Archive).

### Embed an Image within a Post

Example: ![Alternative Text](Image Path)Caption

• Alternative Text: Text to describe the media. Used by screen readers.
• Image Path: Specifies the URL of the image.
• Caption: It makes up the image metadata. It provides additional details for an image and is visible on the screen for all, including search engines and screen readers.

### Embed a Document within a Post

You can embed a document by generating a link by placing the link text, i.e. the words or phrases visible in the text, in square brackets [] and then immediately inserting the URL in parentheses.

Example: [Text](Document Path)

### Embed a File Archive within a Post

You can embed a document by generating a link by placing the anchor text, i.e. the words or phrases visible in the text in square brackets [] and then immediately inserting the URL in parentheses.
